For a long time I was really good at achieving things that didn't actually make me happy.
Moving to NYC. The dream job. Building the business. I did all of it, and I was burning out from the inside. So I did something that felt terrifying at the time and made a decision that changed everything: I stopped. I took a sabbatical. I traveled the world. And eventually I landed in Kenya.
What I didn't expect was that Kenya wasn't just a destination. It was a homecoming to myself.
I'm Kenyan-American, born in the US, but Kenyan by blood. I'd been away for 17 years. Coming back didn't just give me a new home. It gave me back myself. My nervous system finally found rest. My values shifted. I started asking different questions. Not "how do I achieve more?" but "what does a a life I actually love look like?"
This site, this brand, everything I'm building — it's the answer to that question. And it's the guidance I wish I'd had.
THEE CREATOR
As a content creator, I document my travels and life in Nairobi. The apartment I designed from scratch, the city I'm always discovering, the slow and intentional way I've learned to live. What started as sharing has become a platform, a community, and a body of work I'm genuinely proud of. If you've been following along, thank you for being here from the beginning.
